AMD has recently released important updates for the Zen 5 architecture Ryzen 9000 series, which has been making waves in the desktop processor market. AMD has released a new BIOS update aimed at improving the performance and reducing latency of its Ryzen 9000 series desktop processors. The update aims to fix core performance issues on Ryzen 9000 chips.

The AGESA PI 1.2.0.2 BIOS update for AM5 motherboards adjusts core communication between different parts of the Ryzen 9000 processors. AMD says it has halved the number of processes for sharing information between cores, which should reduce latency.

The updates also offer a new 105W TDP mode for the Ryzen 9600X and 9700X. AMD had previously confirmed that these processors operate at the higher power limit, but had not enabled the option until now. The 105W mode will provide 10 per cent more performance for multi-threaded workloads on these processors, the company said.

In addition to processor improvements, the latest Windows 11 updates include several optimisations, especially for Zen 4 and Zen 5 architectures. This means that the performance of Ryzen 9000 processors running the latest Windows 11 version will increase.

AMD will also launch the X870 and X870E AM5 motherboards this week with advanced connectivity features. The motherboards will support high-speed USB 4.0 and PCIe Gen 5 for both graphics cards and NVMe SSDs. It also enables DDR5-8000 memory speeds.
